It has baffled many in the historical and scientific community for many years since its discovery in the frozen region of the Italian Alps. Many wonder how he got there in the first place but more importantly, who shot him with that arrow that pierced him squarely in the ribs! For those of you just joining the show, relax. The case is literally a cold one, and has been open for ages. As in, this primitive and crude murder took place over five thousand years ago!
Meet Ötzi, our Ice-man victim from the Alps. This frozen mummy has been a source of a wealth of information, none of which he himself could have told you. The fellow has been X-rayed and scanned hundreds of times. Thanks to modern technology, we know a lot about the Iceman- one thing was that he couldn’t drink milk without feeling sick. Another, was that he had arthritis and was slowing on his way to getting a heart attack. And now it has been revealed that an extinct stomach bacteria H.Pylori has been found in his gut! Way to go science!!
Scientists who have been subjecting The Iceman to the various tests have high hopes pinned on this discovery. They hope it will shed some light over the human migrations of that time.
